I believe that these are the most essential ingredients for a polished 'finish'. As we get a little older and we acquire smiles lines (alright the odd wrinkle too) -  pucker up and you will know what I am talking about. With ordinary lipsticks our colour tends to run into these little lines giving a very 'untidy' lip appearance. 

Let me tell you that this is all it takes to change that messy image to one of utter glamour!!! Outlining your lips with just a thin line in a slightly darker hue to your main colour stops all that and gives a very special oomph! In fact don't worry if your line is not so thin to start off with, because when you fill in with your main colour the inside edge merges and so you get your thin line - well as long as you follow the outline fairly rapidly.
